Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

At the Red Barn Studio, Linda Wisely is the artist-in-residence through August 17th, working in acrylic and pastel. Tomorrow, August 10th, the Red Barn Studio will host a reception for Linda at 2pm. On August 11th and 12th she will be teaching a 2 day pastel workshop; contact the Red Barn for more information.

Today is the day motorcycle enthusiasts from across the midwest will be gathering in Lindsborg for the 2nd annual Thor’s Roar Motorcycle Rally. If any of you are listening, welcome to Lindsborg!

Tomorrow, Sunday August 10th, the Bethany Home is hosting an ice cream social from 6:30 until 8:30 pm. This is the 20th ice cream social, and there will be great entertainment featuring the Flatland String Band from Wichita. There will be plenty of good cake and cold ice cream, as well as plenty of shade, so come spend an enjoyable evening at the Bethany Home Ice Cream Social.

Today and tomorrow are the last 2 days of the Bethany Blitz. No, it’s not football related, but working together as a team volunteers will be painting various Bethany buildings. If you’d like to participate, call 227-3380, ext 8270.

And Bethany Home is continuing its tradition of hosting works by local artists. During the month of August, paintings by Gloria Zachgo will be on display for your viewing pleasure.

One last note, mark your calendars for August 23rd! That’s when Lindsborg Live hosts King Midas and the Mufflers for a street dance in downtown Lindsborg. Food and fun starts at 5pm and the dance runs from 8 until 11pm. At 6pm, there is a children’s tricycle and wagon decorating activity followed by a parade of the decorated vehicles. The whole evening should be lots of fun!

till next time, this is Mike Rodriquez with Lindsborg Town Talk.
