A blog about Lindsborg

Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

Today, Saturday the 23rd, marks the day for the Lindsborg Kiwanis Pancake Day. Service began at 7am this morning, but there’s still plenty of time, as pancakes are being served until 2pm. You can enjoy great pancakes, sausage, coffee and milk at the Kiwanis Pancake feed at the education hall, Bethany Lutheran Church, on north Main street in Lindsborg. That’s today, until 2pm; don’t miss it! Tickets are 4$, and kids under 6 are free with an adult.

Next Saturday, March 1st, Red Barn Studio Artist in Residence Eric Abraham will conduct a three dimensional paper workshop from 9am until 4pm at the Red Barn Studio, Lindsborg, Kansas. As Eric describes it, “the Three Dimensional Drawing Experience transposes everyday mundane drawing into a lively dimensional sculptural drawing.” Contact the Red Barn Studio at 227-2217 for more information.

If you’re shopping in downtown Lindsborg, be sure to wonder over to the Sundstrom Building. No, it’s not open for business, but the windows are filled with photographs of the Bethany Campus, as viewed almost 100 years ago! This fascinating look back is well worth it.

Preparations are in full swing for the 2008 Bethany College Messiah Festival of Music and Art. Soloists for Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion have been announced and the choir continues to practice and get ready. More details as the date approaches, but be sure to mark your calendars for performances on Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
