A blog about Lindsborg

Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

The Lindsborg Library is hosting an afternoon coffee with a friend session each Saturday in October from 2-4pm. Invite a friend and have some coffee while visiting Lindsborg’s great library.

The Bethany College & Lindsborg Community Symphony Orchestra will present their fall concert, featuring two contrasting choral works, on Sunday October 19th at 7:30pm in Presser Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

This concert should be interesting as the first piece is a slow Spanish court dance with a haunting melody and minimal orchestration while the 2nd number, Beethoven’s Fantasy, is a both more complex and ends with a strong flourish.

On Thursday, October 23rd, Smoky Valley High School will present a Strings and Vocal concert at 7:30pm in the Smoky Valley Auditorium. The program will cover a wide variety of musical styles, and given the skills and enthusiasm of the student performers this promises to be quite an enjoyable concert. Come early for best seating.

From October 14th through November 9th, Jerry Buhari returns to the Red Barn Studio as their artist-in-residence. Jerry will focus on painting during his stay.

The Bethany Home’s monthly art exhibition for October features a group of artists, all from the Art Club of Assaria. A wide variety of artistic styles will be on display.

Visitors to the Lindsborg State Bank will have the opportunity to view some rare carvings by local artist Oscar Gunnarson, courtesy of his daughters.

And don’t forget, Monday is the last day for Kansas to register to vote.

till next time, this is Mike Rodriquez with Lindsborg Town Talk.
