A blog about Lindsborg

Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

Tomorrow marks the conclusion of a week of activities celebrating the inauguration of the 13th president of Bethany College, Dr. Edward F. Leonard the 3rd. Joined by his family, Dr. Leonard will lead community members on a walk down the Valkommen Trail in Lindsborg. The walk begins at 1:30pm at the Bethany Lutheran Church. The Leonard family Sundae Stroll will be followed by an ice cream social from 2-4pm on the Bethany campus. The Lindsborg Children’s Choir will perform at 3pm.

Nan Justice has returned for her 2nd stint as Artist-in-residence at the Red Barn Studio on south main street in Lindsborg. Nan, a long-time friend of Lester Raymer, will be at the Red Barn through April 27th and during her residency will continue her work in oils and charcoal. There is a reception for the artist tonight, starting at 7pm at the Red Barn Studio.

And in just one week it will be time for the Friends of the Lindsborg Library to hold their annual book sale. On Friday, April 18th, members of the FOLL are invited to a preview sale from 7 until 9pm. Memberships may be purchased at that time. Then, on Saturday, April 19th, the book sale is open to the public from 10am until 6pm. The sale is held at the Lindsborg Library, located on south Main street in Lindsborg.

And for those who would like to participate in Lindsborg’s long running outdoor theater, Broadway RFD, auditions for this year’s show are coming up soon. Actors, singers, dancers and musicians are invited to the auditions, which will be held on April 17th from 4-9pm and April 19th from 1-5pm. The auditions will be held at the Burnett Center on the Bethany Campus. Call 618-974-3729 for more information.
