Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

Next weekend, March 6th, 7th and 8th, the Smoky Valley High School drama department will present the classic comedy, Arsenic and Old Lace. The play begins each night at 7:30pm in the Smoky Valley Auditorium; tickets are 5$ for adults and 2$ for students.

Also next weekend, on Saturday the 8th, the Lindsborg Swedish Folk Dancers will host a Swedish pancake feed and auction. The event is part of their fundraising efforts to raise money for their trip to Sweden in June. Besides the wonderful food, there will be a silent auction, a live auction, plus a Swedish edition of the game show Deal or no Deal. The fun begins at 8am and lasts until noon, at the Smoky Valley High School commons area.

On March 20th, folks will have a chance to learn more about the composers and music that make up part of the Messiah Festival of Music and Art. Starting at 10:30, at Lindquist Hall, this free presentation by Michael Shasberger will discuss how the faiths of Handel and Bach influenced the music that is performed during the Messiah Festival.

Starting March 4th, there will be a new Artist in Residence at the Red Barn Studio in Lindsborg. David Perez Sacach, from Guatemala, works as a painter and photographer, and will focus on photography during his time at the Red Barn. A reception will be held for David on March 8th, at 7pm at the Red Barn Studio.

And congratulations are in order for Lindsborg artist Shirley Malm. She was recognized by the Lindsborg Arts Council at their recent Chocolate Lovers Affair as the recipient of the Arts and Humanities Award.
