A blog about Lindsborg

Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

A wonderful winter tradition in Lindsborg is the annual Lindsborg Arts Council Chocolate Lover’s Affair. Now in its 14th year, the Chocolate Lover’s Affair is a wonderful opportunity to sample delicious chocolate delights! This year, the event will be held on Saturday, February 16th, from 6 to 8pm at the Birger Sandzen Gallery in Lindsborg. Admission is 5$ for Lindsborg Arts Council and Sandzen members; 7$ for the general public. In addition to the lovely chocolate treats, the Artful Tables display continues to be a part of this event. Prizes will be awarded, so if you are interested in entering a dessert or table, please contact the Lindsborg Arts Council to reserve your spot; their number is 785 227 3032. Advance tickets may also be purchased by calling 227 3032.

If it’s winter, it must be time to start getting ready for this year’s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah, performed on both Palm and Easter Sunday. Singers of all voice ranges are invited to join the chorus, which holds its first practice tomorrow, Sunday, January 27th, at Presser Hall on the Bethany Campus. Please contact the Music Department at Bethany College for more information. Their phone number is (785) 227-3380, ext. 8235.

Visitors to the Lindsborg State Bank will have an opportunity to view artwork by local artist Carla Scott. Some of her paintings will be on display at the bank through February.

And the recently re-opened Swedish Crown restaurant is pleased to announce that they are now serving breakfast, Tuesday through Saturday starting at 6am. On Sundays there is a brunch buffet available from 10am through 3pm. The Swedish Crown is located on north Main street in downtown Lindsborg.

Till next time, this is Mike Rodriquez with Lindsborg Town Talk.
