A blog about Lindsborg

Hello everyone,

It’s a busy time at the Small World Gallery in downtown Lindsborg. On Sunday, March 11th, co-owner Jim Richardson, a highly regarded National Geographic photographer, is hosting a special show. From 2 to 5pm everyone is invited to drop by and see a show of photographs from the April 2007 issue of the National Geographic. The images focus on the Kansas Flint Hills.

And on Friday, March 16th, nationally recognized 6 and 12 string guitarist Chris Proctor will be performing at the Small World Gallery. The concert starts at 8pm, and tickets are 10$ at the door.

Tonight, March 9th and tomorrow, the 10th, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a performance of “The Man Who Came to Dinner”, performed by members of the Smoky Valley High School Drama department. The “Man Who Came to Dinner” will be performed at 7:30pm at the Smoky Valley High School Auditorium.

On Sunday, March 11th, the Svensk Hyllningsfest Committee is holding a fund-raising event in the form of a Swedish Pancake feed. Pancakes and more will be served from 8am until 2pm in the Bethany Church Parish Hall. Donations of 5$ will help defray the costs of this year’s Hyllningsfest celebration.

Last year the Lindsborg Swedish Dancers raised money and provided food and entertainment with a special Psalm Sunday traditional Swedish Meal. On April 1st, 2007, they will once again provide a Psalm Sunday meal accompanied by music and dance. Traditional Swedish food will be served at 2 seatings, one at 11:45am and the other at 1pm. The meals will be served at the Messiah Lutheran Church, located on the Bethany Campus, and tickets may be purchased at the Bank of America in Lindsborg.
