A blog about Lindsborg

Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

Tomorrow, Sunday October 5th, the Sandzen Gallery is hosting a reception for 5 different artists whose works are on display at the gallery. The reception is from 2-4pm.

Also at the Sandzen Gallery is a new exhibition starting Monday October 6th and running through November 30th. During this time watercolors by Miles Batt will be on display.

The Bethany Home’s monthly art exhibition for October features a group of artists, all from the Art Club of Assaria. A wide variety of artistic styles will be on display as a result.

And now that school is back in session, it’s time for performances by local schools as well as Bethany College students. To begin, the Bethany College Symphonic Band will hold its first concert of the season on Tuesday, October 7th, at 7:30pm at Presser Hall. Admission is free.

Over at the Red Barn Studio, artist Jerry Buhari of Nigeria is the artist-in-residence through the end of the month. During his time at the Red Barn Jerry will observe life in our small town and surrounding area and then translate his observations in wonderful watercolor and acrylic paintings.

And for some fun outdoor fall activities, head over to the Sunny Side Pumpkin Patch north of Lindsborg. There you will find a crop maze, hay rides and more, including a night maze on Fridays and Saturdays in October. Visit sunnysidepatch.com for more details.

Finally, time is running out, so don’t forget to vote! No, not in the national elections, but in the Kansas Samplers 8 Art Wonders of Kansas competition. Lindsborg has two entries, the Sandzen Gallery and the Red Barn Studio, so it’s important that you visit kansassampler.org and cast your vote!

till next time, this is Mike Rodriquez with Lindsborg Town Talk.
