A blog about Lindsborg

Welcome to Lindsborg Town Talk, your source for news about upcoming events and activities in Lindsborg.

If you’re looking for some fun today, head on down to the Smoky Hill River in Lindsborg. At 10am there will be a rubber ducky race down the river; if you want to participate, duck decorating starts at 9am. Ducks are available for 5$, which goes to support Polio Eradication. The event is sponsored by the Lindsborg Rotaries.

This evening, Saturday October 11th, violinist Randall W. Olson will present a recital at 7pm in the Bethany Home Activity Center. He will be accompanied by Lam Nelson. The recital is free and open to the public.

This is the last week to vote for your choices in the 8 Art Wonders of Kansas competition. Voting ends on October 15th. It’s really important to vote in this election as Lindsborg has two entries in the running. The Red Barn Studio and the Birger Sandzen Gallery both have a chance to be part of the 8 Art Wonders of Kansas. We know how special these places are, now it’s our chance to tell the world! To vote, head over to kansassampler.org or get a paper ballot at the Lindsborg Chamber of Commerce office.

The Lindsborg Library is hosting an afternoon coffee with a friend session each Saturday in October. The first is today, and lasts from 2-4pm. Invite a friend and have some coffee while visiting Lindsborg’s great library.

On Tuesday, October 14th, there will be a music recital performed by 5 Bethany students at Presser Hall at 2pm; admission is free.

From October 14th through November 9th, Jerry Buhari returns to the Red Barn Studio as their artist-in-residence. Jerry will focus on painting during his stay.

The Bethany Home’s monthly art exhibition for October features a group of artists, all from the Art Club of Assaria. A wide variety of artistic styles will be on display as a result.

till next time, this is Mike Rodriquez with Lindsborg Town Talk.
