A blog about Lindsborg

Hello everyone,

Summertime is baseball time and that makes this year’s Broadway RFD production a timely one! This year the cast of Broadway RFD is performing the baseball themed musical, Damn Yankees.

The final performances of Damn Yankees by the talented cast of Broadway RFD will be held this weekend, Friday July 20th and Saturday the 21st.

So bring your blankets and lawn chairs and head over to Swensson Park for this year’s Broadway RFD show. Performances begin at 8:30 and tickets are available at the gate. Prices are $6 for adults, 4$ for children ages 5 through 12 and kids under 4 are free.

In the event of rain, performances will be held on the 22nd.

And the Red Barn Studio continues its Artist in Residence program with a unique set of visitors the week of July 22nd through 28th. Artists of the Visual Arts Alliance of Mc Pherson? will bring a variety of interests and styles as they come together to work as a group during their residency at the Red Barn. Contact the Red Barn Studio at 227-2217 for more information.

Car lovers, mark your calendars! In just two weeks it’s time for Lindsborg’s annual Smoky Valley Classic Car Show. Held at beautiful Swensson Park from 9am until 3pm on Saturday, August 4th, this is a great chance to view some fine classic cars. In addition, there will be judging for winners in a variety of categories, including the humorous, most likely to get ticketed! If you are interested in exhibiting one of your classics, please contact the Lindsborg Chamber before August 1st.

Finally, in the tooting our own horn category, comes news that Lindsborg was named as one of the top 20 Small Town Get-aways for 2007 by the Midwest Living magazine. If you haven’t visited Lindsborg recently, why not drop by and find out why we were chosen to receive this honor?

Till next week, this is Mike Rodriquez with the Lindsborg update.
